Forests are being destroyed to make toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels and other disposable paper products. I used to buy Scott, but I can’t in good conscience continue, so I am buying Seventh Generation toilet paper from Amazon. Many big brands also still use chlorine bleach, a very toxic substance containing chlorinated organic compounds and dioxins, to whiten their product when safer methods are available. I’ve recently learned that if every household in the United States replaced JUST ONE ROLL of virgin fiber toilet paper (500 sheets) with 100% recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees!! If you can’t afford to buy all your paper from a green producer, maybe you could just replace ONE roll each time you shop. Here is your chance to make a small change that will reap big benefits for our environment. Go to the NRDC website to see which disposable paper products use the most post-consumer recycled material and non-chlorine bleaching, and also to see how you can pressure the big paper companies to increase their post-consumer paper content.

Nowhere in the product description does it say 1-ply. I can’t find a place to complain to Amazon.

While I DO love Scott Brand products…I don’t think this package is such a great deal….this price works out to $1.60 per roll!! I thought buying in bulk was supposed to be cheaper?? You can buy a 4-pack for around $3.00, well, at least you can here in Florida! Total waste of money..unless it’s necessary you buy in bulk. Maybe with the $20 off special it MAY be worth it?

I’m in agreement with the fellow reviewers! Scott HAS changed (and don’t you just hate when companies fix what isn’t broke??) and their toilet paper now has a stiff, scratchy feel..guess that’s why they came up with the Extra Soft version. And yes, it seems they WELD the start sheet to the roll now..I think they want you to use up half the roll just getting it started..to make you buy MORE and more frequently!! I think I’ll pass on this “package deal”..I don’t have money to FLUSH!

In a civilized world there should never be 1-ply toilet paper. That’s the one place you want to make sure there are plenty of ply’s available.

Nowhere in the product description does it tell you this is 1-Ply, and so I made the mistake of buying two huge packages of it (the price was good), only to discover that I’m having to pull too much off the roll then fold it up to make my own 2-ply toilet paper. It’s wasteful.

I am giving this product 2 stars for the following reasons:

    - Poorly marketed. Should be very clear that the product is 1-ply.

    - The fact that is it 1-ply in the first place, for such a sensitive body area.

    - I have to waste too much of it to create my own 2-ply.

    - I’m frustrated.

This is course, thin paper. This is the kind of paper you would find in gas stations/rest areas. Barely usable but will not purchase again. I will make sure the next paper I get is two ply.
